Located in the heart of the Green Mountains of Vermont, MB architecture + design specializes in designing new sustainable homes as well as the renovation and redesign of old homes.

We believe that good design is sustainable.  Before "green architecture" became a catch phase, the fundamental practices behind "green" design were an integral part in our design intentions.

Because the most sustainable designs include the reuse of existing materials & spaces while using a conscious approach to energy and ecological conservation, we specialize in both the design of new homes that incorporate recycled and salvaged materials as well as redesign & renovations of existing homes.

Mary Beth Childs, Founder + Principal

Mary Beth holds a Masters of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture & Environment in the College of Design at the University of Oregon. Before opening her own firm in 2010, Mary Beth worked for award-winning architecture + design firms in Oregon + Vermont. 

With over 25 years of design experience in residential architecture, Mary Beth brings a deep-seated passion for sustainable artistry and a keen eye for site-specific solutions to every project. Her collaborative approach transforms complex spatial challenges into elegant, livable environments that reflect the unique narratives of her clients.

Whether navigating the nuances of historic preservation or pushing the boundaries of modern high-performance building, Mary Beth remains dedicated to creating homes that are as enduring as they are inspired.
